If you are a photographer (or at least enjoy taking pictures) and some sort of 3D texture artist, then you might be guilty of being “that guy (or girl) over there that is getting strangely excited about something on that concrete wall.” Now there is the potential to double that “strange excitement” with a new software program due to release anytime (at the time of this writing).

I suspect that, in any profession, there is a tendency to get so comfortable with one’s own industry-related terminology that we become totally unaware of just how perplexing it is to those outside the industry. It may, in fact, be necessity to do so.

Really…it’s more than just a catchy title. Everyday, there is more emphasis being placed on results, return on investment, and the predictability of success. As much as we may want to (or are encouraged to) think about our businesses as an assemblage of yes’s and no’s or true’s and false’s, each one measured and changed appropriately on a linear path to success, they aren’t.

I really don’t blame anyone who gets excited when they first hear about the new live action theatrical release. I loved G.I. Joe as a kid, my parent bought me literally hundreds of dollars worth of action figures and vehicles. I love the source material, so I would love to be excited for a big budget G.I. Joe film.
